Michael Chandler: What’s next after canceled McGregor fight

Despite having the rug pulled out from under him “at the last possible moment,” it sounds like Michael Chandler (23-8) is content waiting for his canceled UFC 303 main event fight against Conor McGregor (22-6) to be rescheduled.

UFC president Dana White confirmed as much on Monday during an appearance on “The Jim Rome Show.”

“I think poor Chandler wants to wait for Conor McGregor,” White said. “Whatever he wants to do — if he wants to get a fight this summer, we’ll do whatever he wants.”

In a video released via social media on Monday, Chandler explained how he’s handling his canceled bout with McGregor — one he’s patiently waited for, for over a year — as he shifts gears having gone through a full training camp without the payoff of competing in the biggest fight of his career.

“So what do I do now?” Chandler asked. “A little bit of uncertainty in my life. When’s this fight going to happen? What date would it be re-booked for? What venue? How bad is (McGregor’s) injury? … I am emboldened by this test, and this test is not done yet. And this test shall turn into part of my testimony.”
