A Cornwall man is facing charges after brandishing a firearm while disrupting traffic

CORNWALL — A Cornwall man was arrested after an incident involving a firearm that disrupted traffic on Vermont Route 30, authorities said.

Vincent Gardon, 46, of Cornwall, faces charges of unlawful mischief, disorderly conduct and recklessly endangering another person after the June 19 altercation.

According to the New Haven Barracks, troopers responded to reports of a suspicious person near the intersection of Vermont Route 30 and Swamp Road around 5:36 p.m.

The investigation revealed that Gardon held and discharged a firearm on the side of the road and obstructed traffic by standing in the roadway while brandishing the weapon.

Gardon was taken into custody and later released with a summons to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Addison Criminal Division at a later date.

No injuries were reported following the incident.

The case remains under investigation.
