During the interview, Addison was asked if she preferred acting or making music.

“I feel like I get asked a lot, ‘Do you want to play or do you want to make music?’ I was talking to my acting coach about it, I said, ‘Why do you have to shut down?’” she said. “I want to create things that are memorable, that provoke thoughts and feelings in people, and I want to entertain. Britney (Spears) said it best: ‘There are only two types of people in the world, entertainers and observers.’ And I like to have fun.”

Addison Rae talks TikTok

When asked about her journey on TikTok, Addison reflected on her early days with a mixture of naivety and fearlessness. She shared, “I think in the beginning I was so naive and fearless and it was a pretty nice combination to step into everything because I was willing to experiment.”

Addressing perceptions of being labeled just a ‘TikToker’, she expressed her initial confusion, saying: “People wanted to say, ‘Oh, she’s just a TikToker.’ Which to me didn’t make sense, because I was like, “What the hell is this?” People grow up and say, “I want to be a TikToker?” Maybe nowadays, but I grew up dancing and TikTok was just a through line.”

Addison emphasized that her interest in TikTok was a natural extension of her background in dance, and she always had broader aspirations, including exploring acting and other interests she developed while growing up.
