UK Soccer Player Hosts Camp To Teach Soccer Skills, Life Lessons

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A University of Kentucky football player took some time to teach young athletes lessons on and off the gridiron.

At Marion C. Moore School’s Perfect Fit Football Camp, UK linebacker JJ Weaver hosts a camp for kids aged five to 17 to build their football IQ, practice drills and learn valuable skills of life.

“I just wanted to give back to the kids. We didn’t have anything like that growing up,” Weaver explained. “It’s so exciting. It is an honor. It’s a blessing, for sure. I can not wait. I’m excited to see kids who love to play soccer just enjoy having fun.”

Weaver has played for Great Britain for five years and this is his second time hosting the camp.
