Man, 34, found shot at southeast Wichita apartment complex, police say

A 34-year-old man was taken to the hospital after he was shot Thursday afternoon, Wichita police said.

Officers responded at 1:30 p.m. to a shooting call at the Skyline apartment complex in the 2400 block of South Glendale in southeast Wichita, Sgt. of Wichita Police. Brian Hightower said at the scene.

The man was found inside an apartment with a gunshot wound to the leg. He is expected to survive. Police say it’s unclear where the shooting actually took place.

Officers said the man has family who live at the complex, which is near Pawnee and Oliver.

“We don’t believe it happened here (at the apartment complex),” Hightower said. “He came here to call 911.”

It is not known if the victim was left there or got there alone.

Police are working to determine where the shooting occurred. The man was cooperating with police, Hightower said.

Another person was injured in a separate attack on Thursday morning in 600 block of upstate New York.
