Eva Green has defended the poster for ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’ after it was banned for being too rude.

The Motion Picture Association of America stepped in to withdraw the promotional image after taking issue with how much of Green was revealed.

This is the new, edited version:

It features the former Bond girl, who plays femme fatale Ava Lord, wearing a see-through dress that is, shall we say, inadequately secured.

“I find it a little weird,” she told Vanity Fair. “It seems it’s all just hype – a lot of noise for nothing.”

She added that she personally found the original poster “very sexy” and that it pales when discussed alongside the film’s violence.

“You have so much violent stuff in the movie industry,” Green argued.

Below is the original poster:

The image has now been made a little more modest, with Green’s breasts less prominent.

The MPAA pulled the first poster “for nudity – curve under breast and dark nipple/areola circle visible through see-through dress.”

The star-studded thriller, directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, also stars Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Rosario Dawson, Josh Brolin, Jeremy Piven and Lady Gaga.

It is due out on August 29th.
