SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — A police chase Wednesday in Sioux Falls led to the arrest of three people, Minnehaha County Capt. Josh Phillips said during a Sioux Falls police briefing Thursday.

Phillips said the pursuit began in the 400 block of S. Prairie Ave. in Sioux Falls when two officers heard a gunshot and saw a gun sticking out the window of the Buick Lucerne.

The pursuit ended around 10:26 a.m. at 22nd and Willow, where the vehicle crashed into a pickup truck.

The occupant of the vehicle suffered minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital and later released.

The suspects’ car had four occupants. Two people fled the scene, one was taken into custody by the Sioux Falls Task Force and Sioux Falls Police. The other is still being actively sought, Phillips said. The other two occupants remained in the car and were arrested.

Corbat J. Heron, 19, of Sioux Falls, is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm with altered serial numbers, possession of a stolen vehicle and reckless discharge of a firearm.

Shalena C. Alexander, 19, of Sioux Falls, charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.

A 17-year-old Sioux Falls man was charged with simple assault, possession of a stolen vehicle and fleeing from police officers. The third person is also believed to have an outstanding warrant, unrelated to this case, for abuse or cruelty to a minor under the age of 7.
