Outlaws 3, marshals 2

Shu Kitagawa singled in the bottom of the eighth inning to break a 2-2 tie and lift Joplin to a victory over Fort Smith on Tuesday night.

The Marshals (20-18) scored twice in the top of the sixth to take a 2-1 lead, but Jackson Purcell’s solo homer tied the game in the bottom of the seventh.

Keypher DeLeon, who went 2-for-3, drove in a run in the sixth with an infield single and CJ Snowden followed with a fielder’s choice to tie the game for Fort Smith, which was on a six-game hitting streak.
