Larry “Ike” Maxwell, 92, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, at his residence. He was born March 28, 1932 in Rush County, Indiana to the late Earnest & Eva (Roberts) Maxwell. Ike married Barbara Jean (Wickliff) Maxwell on July 3, 1955.

Ike has worked and held many different jobs throughout his career. He’s done everything from being a farm manager at the Pendleton Reformatory to being self-employed. No matter what he did, he always had a good work ethic and worked proudly until he was about 80 years old. He was one of the original members of Trinity Park United Methodist Church in Greenfield. He was a member of the Hancock County Antique Tractor Club and a 25-year member of the Pioneer Village at the Indiana State Fair.

Ike is survived by his son, Doug (Deborah) Maxwell of Greenfield; grandchildren, Chris &Lisa Tutrow; Amber Karkowski (Mike Morgan); great-grandchildren, Zachary, Lucas and Kye Tutrow; Austin Tserlentakis; and Ava Morgan; and several nieces and nephews. Ike is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Maxwell; seven brothers; and three sisters.

Private graveside services will be held by immediate family. A public memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Pioneer Building at the Hancock County Fairgrounds.
