Mrs. Nancy Jo Moore, 75, of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, with her family by her side.

Nancy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 24, 1948, the only child of James Gerald and Ruth Lois Ray Brown, both of whom preceded her in death. He graduated in 1966 from New Palestine High School and attended Indiana Business College. Nancy was a 4-H member for 10 years growing up. She met David L. Moore when they were both active members of Rural Youth. She married David 54 years ago on April 12, 1970 in Fountaintown, Indiana. They were blessed with two children.

Nancy lived in Randolph County most of her adult life. She attended Lynn Church of the Nazarene and Arba Friends Church. He began his career as a bank teller at Greenfield Banking Co., where he worked for 4 years. She later worked as a teller at the Fountain City branch of Peoples Saving & Loan, later known as MainSource Bank, as well as other branches in Wayne and Randolph counties for nearly 40 years.

Nancy and David were members of Happy Travelers through the Richmond Senior Center. They loved to travel and had visited many places including Alaska, Branson and Atlantic City. They also enjoyed playing in a bowling league years ago. Nancy enjoyed scrapbooking, genealogy, gardening, canning, growing flowers and cooking.

Nancy will be missed by her husband, David L. Moore; daughter, Gretchen Smith & companion, Tony Spiers; son, Todd Moore; grandchildren, Megan Smith and Evan Smith; great-grandson, Parker Phillips; and special friends Imogene Limbrey, Linda Stewart, Diane Slick, Donna (Red) Storm and Charlene (Rabbit) Smith.

Visitation for Nancy will be held Sunday, June 2, from 2 to 6 p.m., at Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hollansburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are encouraged for the education of Nancy’s great-grandson Parker. Checks can be made payable to David Moore.
