Who is sliding into the big freeze of 2024? – AFL News

The slides for this year’s Fight MND Big Freeze have begun to be revealed ahead of the 10th edition of the King’s Day event.

Over a decade since Neale Daniher’s diagnosis, Fight MND has been able to invest $97 million in research and care initiatives.

Big Freeze 8 managed to collect $19.8 million, with the annual tradition continuing to support the ongoing battle.

Last year’s event saw the likes of Mick Fanning, Jason Dunstall, Eric Bana and Michelle Payne slide down the ice bath.

Tennis champion Pat Rafter has been revealed as the first slider for the Big Freeze 10, with the former world number 1 men’s player due to appear at the MCG on Monday 10 June.

Rafter won the US Open twice and won the Australian Open doubles title in 1999.

Dual code star Erin Phillips, West Coast great Nic Naitanui and AFL commentator James Brayshaw have also been revealed as 2024 pointers.

The Big Freeze 10 will take place before the Round 13 clash between Collingwood and Melbourne at the MCG, while other Big Freeze events will take place in Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane between June 1 and June 14.
