Erie mother charged in Florida with first-degree murder after strangling her daughter

An Erie mother has been charged by Florida officials with first-degree murder after she strangled her daughter to death, according to WFLA in Tampa, FL.

Rotesha Silveus, 38, was arrested on May 11 after her 18-year-old daughter, Natavia Sanders, also of Erie, called police and said she “just woke up after passing out” after was strangled.


Silveus was taken into custody after a “short struggle,” according to the Tampa Police Department.

Sanders was found unresponsive and taken to a hospital where she died on May 13.
