Storm Chasing: The Wichita Pachyderm Club

It was a warm, dry afternoon to go to the Petroleum Club in the Ruffin Building to talk about our Kansas weather with the Wichita Pachyderm Club.

I took them through the decades of twisters in Kansas and how technology has evolved with radar, helping to save lives and property. We also discussed my weather journey and what I’ve learned from each state I’ve forecast in my career.

I spoke with many one-on-ones after discussing the weather about growing up in Haysville and my family’s history of storm watching in Sedgwick County.
