Real Madrid will unveil Kylian Mbappe as their new star on Monday, according to a new report.

The French icon has bid farewell to his former team-mates at PSG and was rumored to be joining the Spanish giants as a free agent this summer.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night – but once it’s over, it’s believed the deal for Mbappe will be confirmed quickly.

L’Equipe say Mbappe will be unveiled as a new Real Madrid player on Monday, less than 48 hours after the final at Wembley but before his international commitments with France begin during Euro 2024.

During a training session with the national team on Thursday, Mbappé met fans and even signed the shirt of one lucky Real Madrid player – a sure sign that this deal will be completed soon.

Earlier this week, it was reported that relationship between PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and those leaving Mbappe remains strong despite claims a rift has emerged over the terms of his free agent departure.

Both the club and the player have previously said there is an agreement which respects PSG’s huge investment in Mbappé’s development as a player since his £166m move from Monaco in 2017.

Mbappe won the French Cup in his final game for PSG on Saturday, ending his final season at the club with 44 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions.

The French star threw a farewell party for 250 guests last week in Paris as his former PSG team-mates said goodbye to him after seven years on the job.

Despite being officially contracted to PSG until June 30, Mbappe is already preparing for life in Madrid after reportedly buying a £15m mega-mansion in the Spanish capital.

Although he has barely left the French capital, swapping it for the Spanish one, he has already looked for another European city where he would like to play, growing up to admire AC Milan in Serie A.

Mbappe leaves as PSG’s record goalscorer, having scored 256 goals in 308 appearances in seven years in Paris.

Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid will meet in the Champions League final in London

Spanish champions Real Madrid and German icons Borussia Dortmund clashed at Wembley for the biggest prize in European club football.

Both Mbappe’s old club PSG and Real Madrid have won their respective domestic leagues this year, although PSG fell short in the Champions League semi-finals to the German finalists, while Real seek their 15th trophy from the history of the tournament.

Real Madrid are set to hold a trophy celebration on Sunday if they win the Champions League in London – and the festivities could continue into the following day if the report about Mbappé’s unveiling date is true.
