Sleeping 10-year-old girl shot and killed in Milwaukee home | News

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) — A 10-year-old girl who loved to draw is now the latest shooting victim in Milwaukee.

According to our Milwaukee affiliate, the family says the little girl was in her home sleeping in her bed.

That’s when a shot is said to have come from upstairs.

It is believed that a relative accidentally fired a bullet that went through the floor, hitting the girl who was in bed.

This situation has caught the attention of Milwaukee city leaders.

“It’s still under investigation, so I won’t say anything other than our thoughts, prayers and hearts are with you during what I know as a father is just an unimaginable time,” said Scott Spiker, Milwaukee City Alder.

The death marks the eighth child killed by gunfire in Milwaukee so far this year, according to the coroner’s office.

No arrests have been made.
