KUPCHIK, Eugene M. Eugene M. Kupchik, 75, of Unionville, beloved husband of Barbara (Florkowski) Kupchik, passed away suddenly Wednesday (August 4, 2010). Born in New Britain, November 15, 1934, son of the late Michael and Victoria (Chmohowski) Kupchik. Gene was the former owner and operator of Bidway Atlantic Service Station in Farmington and was also employed by Gems Sensors in Plainville for over 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Uncas Council #3675 of Kensington. Gene was a longtime communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in Unionville, was an avid golfer and accomplished bowler. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Brian M. and Diane P. Kupchik of Canton, his daughter and son-in-law, Laurie A. and Michael J. Lindsey of Colchester, his sister. , Carol Michaud of Yarmouth, MA, six grandchildren, Addison Kupchik, Jill Kupchik, Stephanie Kupchik, Elissa Kupchik, Joseph Lindsey and Alison Lindsey and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Kupchik. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville TODAY, 4-7 p.m. The funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will take place on Monday (August 9, 2010) at 9:15 a.m. followed by the funeral Mass in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Unionville at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. .
