Marion S. Steele MECHANICVILLE – Mrs. Marion S. Steele, 84, formerly of Park Ave., died peacefully Monday, Oct. 1, at St. John’s Hospital. Mary’s, Troy, in the loving company of his family, following a courageous long battle. disease. Born in Mechanicville, December 18, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Gordon & Louise Smith and the wife of the late James Gordon Steele, who died in 2006. A graduate of Mechanicville High School, Marion later received her dental certificate at Hudson Valley Community. College. She worked as a dental assistant for many years at Ray DeCrescente Dentistry in Mechanicville. She was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was also a member of Mechanicville United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Marion is survived by her two sons, David(Lynn Wilber) Steele of Malta and Douglas(Karla) Steele of Orlando, FL, as well as grandchildren David, Brian, Brad, Kara, Scott and Kelli Steele, great grandchildren Kamm, Callan and Kasen. Lemay. She is also survived by her sister Hilda Beecroft of Mechanicville along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Marion was sadly predeceased by her son Dale Steele and her siblings, Frances McEchron, Eleanor Smith, Emily Martin, Katherine Vincent, Gordon “Bud”, Robert and Kenneth Steele. Marion’s family would like to give special thanks to Kay Gordon, Karen Robinson, Jessica Cruz; The doctors and nurses at Schuyler Ridge, Hospice of St. Mary and the Rubin Dialysis Center for the overwhelming care, compassion and love given to her over the past few years. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 4th at 12:00 PM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So Main St, Mechanicville, with burial to follow in Hudson View Cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior to the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rubin Dialysis Center, 1850 Peoples Avenue, Troy, NY 12180 or to the National Hemophilia Foundation, 116 West 32nd St., 11th Floor, New York, NY 10001, in Marion’s respectful memory S.
