A UFC 303 press conference scheduled for today in Dublin has been abruptly postponed by the UFC. The promotion did not indicate why it did so and only promised fans to update them with a new date and time as soon as it was decided.

This has led to some speculation that the reason could be related to Conor McGregor, who is scheduled to face Michael Chandler in the main event of UFC 303 on June 29. Due to the lack of reasons given by the Las Vegas promotion, fans speculated on some wild theories, from “Notorious” being too hungover to him suffering an injury. Many were also concerned about what it meant for the Irishman’s next fight and whether it would go ahead as originally planned.

And veteran MMA journalist Ariel Helwani assured fans that the press conference was not canceled due to any such mishap and also assured them that the fight is still on June 29 as originally planned. However, he reminded viewers that it is still a developing story and nothing can be said for sure. But he was confident that as of today, McGregor-Chandler was still on for UFC 303.

β€œAnd of course, on everyone’s mind is: Will this (the postponement of the UFC 303 press conference in Dublin) affect June 29? Right this second, as I’m sitting in my chair talking about this, it’s still June 29th. But you know let’s see what happens, it’s 26 days away, so it’s all developing as we speak. But as of now, June 29 is still open and hopefully we’ll get more information about all of this.” the journalist said on the “MMA Hour Show” on YouTube.
