Police are investigating Marion’s fatal shooting

MARION, SC (WMBF) – One person is dead after a shooting Monday morning in Marion.

Officers from the Marion Police Department were called around 10:30 a.m. to the 1100 block of Strawberry Street for a person shot.

At the scene, they found a man shot in the abdomen, lying on a bedroom floor, according to Chief Tony Flowers.

The man was taken to hospital, where he later died.

Flowers said they are investigating the shooting as a homicide unless they determine the shooting was accidental.

The man’s name has not yet been released.
