Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck share awkward ‘air kiss’ in public amid divorce rumors

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s fans continue to speculate about their relationship status after the pair were spotted on a recent outing. close kiss – but not really.

After initially calling off their engagement in 2003, Lopez and Affleck — also known as Bennifer — delighted millennials everywhere when they got back together and tied the knot in 2022.

After two years, the couple found themselves at the center of speculation as insiders claimed their marriage was ‘over’.

A person who knew the couple claimed that Affleck had moved out of the home he shared with Lopez, although they have since been seen together.

The two were spotted out and about with Affleck’s mom Christopher Anne Boldt in Santa Monica on Sunday (June 2), though they did nothing to dispel rumors of trouble between them.

Pictures of the couple showed them leaning in for a kiss, but instead puckered their lips against each other’s cheeks instead of making contact.

According to TMZ, Affleck admitted that the paparazzi were following the couple as he gave a thumbs up while walking with Lopez.

The two walked arm in arm for a moment, but did not seem to approach each other.

Pictures of the scene were shared on X, where one user wrote: “Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck share a VERY awkward air kiss amid rumors of marital turmoil.”

The sighting came after Lopez announced her decision to cancel her tour so she could take “time off to be with her children, family and close friends.”

“I am completely heartbroken and devastated that I let you down,” the singer wrote as she shared the news in her newsletter. “Please know that I would not do this unless I felt it was absolutely necessary.

“I promise I’ll make it up and we’ll be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time.”

Lopez previously shut down questions about her relationship with Affleck when confronted during a press event for her new Netflix film, Atlas.

During the event, a journalist asked if the rumors of a divorce were “real”.

“What is the truth?” they asked. “Para le press le Mexicana (for the Mexican press), what is the truth of the situation?”

Lopez refused to give in to the questions as she replied, “You know better than that.”

Lopez and Affleck rekindled their relationship in April 2021 after the singer split from baseball player Alex Rodriguez.
