Temporary locations established for the City Council

TACOMA 03.06.2024 – The June 4 City Council study session has been rescheduled as a special meeting, which will begin at 11 a.m. instead of the usual noon start time for study sessions.

Work to upgrade the Council Chambers began on 22 May and is expected to be completed by early July. The redesign includes planned upgrades to improve accessibility and foster more productive face-to-face conversations by removing the first two rows of seats and installing a conference table in front of the dais.

While this work continues, City Council study sessions will be held in the Tacoma North Municipal Building (733 Market St., Room 16) at noon, unless otherwise noted. City Council meetings will be held in the Tacoma Public Utilities Auditorium (3628 S. 35th St., Tacoma) at 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted. City Council sessions and study sessions will continue to be held in a hybrid format that includes in-person and virtual participation options.

City Council sessions and study sessions will continue to be broadcast on Tacoma TV and streamed tvtacoma.com as well as Facebook LIVE. They will also be accessible via Zoom. Zoom access details for study sessions and City Council meetings are available, along with agendas and archived recordings, at cityoftacoma.legistar.com.

The City Council may go into closed or executive session at any time during an open public session, under the conditions provided by law.

Community members with questions can contact the City Clerk’s office at (253) 591-5505.
