The Greenfield Police Department K-9 was hit by a vehicle while chasing the suspect

GREENFIELD, Ind. — A K-9 in Greenfield was hit by a car Sunday night.

According to a Greenfield Police Department Facebook post, K-9 Ace was struck by a vehicle while chasing a criminal suspect. GPD reported Ace was still at an animal hospital receiving treatment Monday.

None of K-9’s bones were broken in the crash, although Ace suffered several soft tissue injuries. I would also need stitches after the incident, according to the GPD.

The suspect Ace was chasing was arrested and is currently in the Hancock County Jail.

GPD did not say exactly what charges the suspect faces. Police also did not clarify whether the suspect was driving the vehicle that struck Ace.
