Amarillo employers are looking for seasonal workers for the summer

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Amarillo employers are looking to hire seasonal workers to meet high demand during peak times this summer.

From April to July, there is an increase in job opportunities for high school and college students looking for summer jobs.

“Seasonal jobs that will come up in the summer months that you won’t have all year round. Whether it’s related to the opening of the pools or the work that is done at the schools when they are not in session. Construction jobs, absolutely there are more opportunities during the summer, especially for our teenagers and youth going back to school,” said Trent Morris, director of Workforce Solutions Panhandle.

Some summer jobs include lifeguard, camp counselor, babysitting, food service, landscaping or construction.

The City of Amarillo Parks and Recreation Department and Wonderland Amusement Park are still hiring young adults looking for work.

Morris says seasonal jobs are great opportunities for young employees to gain experience for the workforce.
