Two fetuses found on Baltimore MTA bus, police say

Authorities are investigating after two fetuses were found on a Baltimore bus over the weekend, police said.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. Saturday, a Maryland Transit Administration bus driver discovered a fetus in a bus seat, the Baltimore Police Department said in a statement sent to USA TODAY.

Initial reports indicated that only one fetus was found on the bus, but police confirmed on Monday that a second fetus had been discovered. The department did not say when the second fetus was found.

Police also declined to comment on how far along the fetuses were during gestation.

MTA Police, Eastern District officers and homicide detectives responded to the call. Homicide authorities took over the case.

The girls were transferred to the medical examiner’s office. USA TODAY has reached out to the office for comment.

The investigation is ongoing and this story will be updated as more information is released.
