The June Jazz Concert Series returns to Amarillo College on Tuesday

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The Jim Laughlin June Jazz Series returns to Amarillo College starting Tuesday.

The free concerts will be held at 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday in June at the Oeschger Family Mall, located on the Washington Street Campus.

“One of my favorite things about June Jazz, besides the fact that it’s free, is the community and family atmosphere,” said Dr. Jim Laughlin, AC’s veteran music teacher. “Everyone brings blankets, lawn chairs, picnics and pets. The kids are always playing and dancing and everyone is welcome to join in.”

This year’s lineup includes:

  • June 4: Army Band 77
  • June 11: Daruma from Denver
  • June 18: Jim Laughlin and Friends
  • June 25: Polk Street Jazz

“June Jazz is one of Amarillo’s favorite community gatherings, featuring some of our amazing local artists and some talented special guests. And it just never gets old,” Dr. Laughlin said.

This year, the public can enjoy drinks and food from the Badger Central Bookstore & Cafe located in the College Union building adjacent to the concert venue.

For those who can’t make it to June Jazz in person, the concerts are broadcast starting at 7:30 PM on 89.9 FM or online.
