Crews are battling a massive fire at a Springfield equipment rental business

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Springfield firefighters spent Monday afternoon battling a massive fire visible from I-44 and the 65 freeway.

According to the Springfield Fire Department, firefighters were called around 12:30 a.m. to the Superior Rental location off Kearney Street. Fire crews are still working on the fire.

Crews say no injuries have been reported at this time and the fire was contained to two forklifts.

Firefighters called Springfield City Utilities because of downed power lines in the area. According to CU’s Outage Map, there are about 60 power outages in the same area.
