Marion’s house fire is believed to have started in the basement WJHL

MARION, Va. (WJHL) – A house fire Sunday night in Marion is believed to have started in the basement of the home.

According to city spokesman Ken Heath, Marion Fire/EMS was dispatched to a fire at 413 First Street shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday.


The fire was quickly contained and extinguished.

However, Marion Fire Chief Rusty Hamm reports the home suffered heavy smoke and water damage.

According to Heath, the residents of the home were temporarily relocated.
