Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith react to the death of ‘gentle giant’ Larry Allen

The football world was hit with stunning news when the Dallas Cowboys announced the passing of Pro Hall of Famer Larry Allen.

Allen, a Cowboys Ring of Honor member and Super Bowl champion, died while on vacation with his family, the team said. He was 52 years old.

“Larry, known for his great athleticism and incredible strength, was one of the most respected and accomplished offensive linemen to ever play in the NFL,” the Cowboys said in a statement. β€œHis versatility and reliability have also been hallmarks of his career. In doing so, he continued to serve as an inspiration to many other players, defining what it means to be a great teammate, competitor and winner.”

Former teammates, current Cowboys players and other prominent football figures shared their condolences on social media following the announcement.
