Miraculous escape for couple after car plunges off West Country cliff

Two people escaped after their vehicle fell off a cliff. Emergency services were called to Ladye Bay, in Clevedon, just after 3.30pm yesterday (Monday, June 10).

Fire crews from Clevedon, Portishead, Southmead and Temple rushed to the scene. They worked with paramedics and coast guard crews to save the two before they were taken to hospital.




Clevedon Fire Brigade said: “Just after 3.30pm, crews from Clevedon, Portishead, Southmead and Temple Fire Brigades responded to reports of a car that had accidentally driven over the edge of Ladye Bay.

“Teams working alongside South West Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust Hazard Area Response Team and Clevedon Coastguard Rescue Team secured the vehicle before rescuing 2 people from the vehicle who were taken to hospital by ambulance as a precaution. “, reports Somerset Live.
