Conor McGregor’s ‘Kill Shot’ Could Leave Michael Chandler Unconscious After Mistake As Demetrius Johnson Raises Alarm In UFC 303 Training Footage

Everyone in the UFC is waiting Conor McGregorhis return. The Irishman has been out for three years after breaking his leg in his last Octagon appearance at UFC 264 in July 2021. Finally, the former two-division champion is ready to face Michael Chandler in a welterweight bout on June 29 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

There are question marks over the Dubliner’s bombastic skills and abilities as a fighter, which seem to be on a downward trend over the past few years. But the MMA GOAT contender, Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson not worried about “Mac” after watching his recent sparring videos.

McGregor is coming off a losing streak, having fought just four times in the past six years, losing all but one. With his advancing age, recent slippage in form and the serious injury he’s carrying, some believe the Irishman could no longer compete with the top guys in the UFC. But most disagree with that assessment, including “Mighty Mouse.”

Demetrious Johnson took a critical look at one of Mac’s training videos and detailed the technical aspects of what the Irishman was doing in his sparring session.

“The guy went in, failed. He (Conor) brings him up, knee to the face, right there. Look what he’s doing, he’s creating some distance, he’s measuring with this hand right here, he’s measuring. Look at his stance, his stance is ready to go.” Johnson said in a video on his YouTube channel.

McGregor’s sparring partner during training pushed for a double takedown. However, McGregor expertly stuffed this attempt and caught him with a knee to the face. The Irishman then brought his opponent up, catching the latter’s right shoulder with his left arm and using a stiff right to his partner’s head to create some distance between them. McGregor then followed up with a hard left hook to his opponent’s face, which “DJ” pointed out would be the “kill shot” if it were a real fight.

“The guy wants to shoot again, he can lay down, but he’s measuring right now and once he measures, he measures the Kill Shot… He’s behind the shoulder, this guy looks this way, Conor looks this way, so full power, Conor from the shot it will go right through this man’s dome. It’s a death blow, right here. My favorite position to throw a Kill Shot,” Johnson added.

While Chandler isn’t good at takedowns, preferring to do his job on the feet, “Mac” looks well prepared if the former Bellator champion goes off script and tries to take the UFC megastar to the ground. In fact, due to the stylistic matchup between the two men, “DJ” predicted that McGregor has a strong chance of defeating Chandler on June 29th.

Johnson thinks “Mac” is a stylistic nightmare for Chandler

Conor McGregor is probably the greatest striker the sport has ever seen. A true sniper, his understanding of range and distance combined with his accuracy and ability to hit his opponents at will is legendary.

Michael Chandler, on the other hand, has a very different approach to wrestling. More interested in having exciting fights than getting into the technical details of the fight, he, according to Johnson, “It’s going bankrupt.” His pole fighting approach contrasts sharply with Mac’s ‘hit and don’t get hit’ style of fighting.

That’s why the ONE flyweight champion feels the Irishman has the upper hand in their UFC 303 fight.
